A Wyalusing man is jailed on $500,000 bail after a reported attempted shooting in Wyalusing Township.

Pennsylvania State Police responded to the call from a Herrickville Road property June 7 where they seized two firearms used in the incident, which involved a 36-year-old male victim.

Police arrested 24-year-old Dustin Scherer on a warrant early the next day without incident.

Scherer is charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, along with the misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and harassment.

He was initially jailed on $250,000 bail, but that amount was doubled recently due to the assets Scherer has as well as a concern for public safety.

Scherer is scheduled for a preliminary hearing later today.
