An Ithaca man could spend the rest of his life in prison for the murder of his wife.
According to the Tompkins County District Attorney’s Office, 44-year-old Ahmed Abed was sentenced to 25 years to life after being convicted of murder in the second degree.
Abed admitted he killed his wife inside their Ithaca home on Nov. 11, 2024.
The couple’s four children were home at the time of the murder. Three of the children spoke at his sentencing hearing and asked the court to impose the maximum sentence.
