A Candor school bus was involved in an accident last week, resulting in one student suffering serious injuries.
According to a message to parents, a box truck failed to come to a complete stop as it approached a school bus that was stopped with its flashing lights on.
In an effort to avoid the bus, the truck swerved, resulting in a collision that impacted two students walking along the road.
The school district said one student sustained serious injuries, but all students involved were responsive and expected to recover. The injured student was transported to a local hospital by ambulance for treatment.
The remaining students were safely released to their parents or guardians.
