The Ithaca Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its members after Lieutenant Thomas Condzella died unexpectedly at his home on March 10. He was 39 years old.
The department announced Condzella’s passing in a post on its Facebook page.
Condzella joined the Ithaca Police Department in 2015 as a patrol officer. During his career, he was promoted to sergeant and later to lieutenant.
He also served in several specialized roles within the department, including the Specialized Response Team, Crash Reconstruction Team, and the Recruitment Team.
Condzella additionally served as president of the Ithaca Police Benevolent Association during his time with the department.
