BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — The New York State Public High School Athletic Association boys basketball championships are returning to Binghamton this week.
Games will be held at Visions Veterans Memorial Arena from Thursday through Sunday, with the first matchup scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
Local officials say the tournament brings a boost to the region’s economy, with visiting teams and fans filling hotels, restaurants, and local businesses throughout the weekend.
Event organizers say strong community support has helped keep Binghamton a regular host site for the championships.
Tourism leaders also see the event as an opportunity to showcase the area and welcome visitors from across the state.
