The Pennsylvania House of Representatives narrowly passed a bill to raise the minimum wage.
The bill would increase the minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $11 an hour starting in 2027. It would then increase to $13 an hour in 2028 and finally $15 in 2029, followed by annual cost-of-living adjustments.
The bill passed by a 104-95 margin with four Republicans joining 100 Democrats in supporting the measure. Two Democrats voted against the bill.
State Reps. Tina Pickett and Clint Owlett voted against the bill.
The last time Pennsylvania raised its minimum wage was in 2009, when the federal minimum wage increased to $7.25 an hour.
