A pair of fires broke out on Thursday in Newark Valley.
Firefighters responded to incidents on Rewey Ave. and Smokey Zimmer Road.
In the Rewey Ave. fire, the back of the home sustained damage.
The home on Smokey Zimmer Road suffered significant damage. One woman was in the house at the time of the fire, but was able to make it out safely.
Firefighters from Newark Valley, Owego, Campville, West Corners, Berkshire and Maine responded to the scenes.
No further information has been released. The cause of the fires are under investigation.
