A section of Interstate 88 between Exit 10 and Exit 12 near Unadilla has been closed due to a large sinkhole.
According to the New York State Police, an unknown water issue caused a gaping four-foot hole underneath the highway.
All four lanes have been closed and a detour using State Route 7 is in effect.
Eastbound:
- Take exit 10 to State Route 7 to Otego to Exit 12 interchange and the eastbound on ramp.
Westbound:
- Take exit 12 to State Route 7 to Unadilla, then exit 10 interchange and westbound on ramp.
