A multi-million dollar renovation project is underway at the Boscov’s building in downtown Binghamton.
The project was announced back in 2023. It will include upgrades to the building’s electrical and plumbing, elevators, structural repairs and clean energy investments.
The building was constructed in the late 1800s and houses the only department store left in the City of Binghamton.
The total cost of the project is $10 million.
Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo helped secure $5 million in state grant funding, while the city of Binghamton contributed $2.5 million, Boscov’s is covering $1.5 million and Broome County is providing $1 million.
