The speed limit has been changed on State Route 17 near Owego in anticipation of an upcoming construction project.
The speed limit signs were switched from 65 mph to 55 mph on the highway between Exit 65 in Owego and Exit 66 in Apalachin. The change will effect both directions of traffic.
The roadway project is expected to start in the near future.
