Binghamton man arrested for threatening state senator on social media

A Binghamton man is facing charges after he allegedly made a threatening social media comment towards New York State Senator Lea Webb.

According to the New York State Police, 49-year-old James Crosby has been charged with making a terroristic threat as a hate crime.

Crosby allegedly commented on a local news story posted to Facebook that featured Senator Webb at a Juneteenth event.

The investigation discovered that Crosby had guns, which he was banned from owning due to a prior felony conviction.

He was also charged with four counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Crosby was remanded to the Broome County Jail.
