Waverly man facing strangulation charge after domestic incident in Sayre

A 20-year-old Waverly man is facing charges after he allegedly attempted to strangle his girlfriend in Sayre.

According to Sayre Police, Nathen James Wandell was charged with one count each of strangulation, simple assault and harassment.

Police responded to a report of a domestic incident at around 5 am on Friday.

The victim arrived at the police station about a half-hour later. She was barefoot and showed signs of injuries.

Wandell is accused of grabbing her hair and putting her in a headlock. He also allegedly said he wanted to kill her during the incident.

He later allegedly threw the victim’s belongings around and put his hands around her neck for about 30 seconds.

Wandell was remanded to the Bradford County Jail on $100,000 bail.
