TOWN OF UNION, N.Y. — An 11-year-old boy has died following an incident at the Binghamton Country Club pool.
New York State Police say troopers responded to the scene, where bystanders and lifeguards had already begun lifesaving efforts for the unresponsive child.
Troopers assisted until the boy was transported by ambulance to Wilson Medical Center. He was later flown to Upstate University Hospital, where he died on July 9.
State Police say the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Authorities say no foul play is suspected at this time.
