One killed, one injured in shooting in Binghamton

One person was killed and another injured in a shooting in Binghamton over the weekend.

According to Binghamton Police, the incident occurred just before 6 a.m. on Saturday near Montgomery Street in Binghamton.

Two gunshots were heard in the area, which led to police responding to an area near Montgomery Street east of Whitney Avenue.

According to police, 29-year-old Tyshawn J. Hickman was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other victim, a 35-year-old male, wasn’t shot but sustained life-threatening injuries and was found unconscious at the scene.

No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released. Police believe there is no specific threat to the community.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
