Binghamton is accepting contractor bids through October 7th for demolition of the Binghamton Plaza. The city says it has formally taken title to the North Side property nearly two years after winning its eminent-domain case. Colliers Engineering and Design is handling demolition design, environmental testing and pre-demolition work. The city has also hired a Rochester planning firm to study possible redevelopment, including public green space, riverfront access and job-producing uses.
