Binghamton University has moved up two places to No. 32 among public universities in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.
The university also ranks No. 73 among public and private national universities in the 2027 Best National Colleges list. Binghamton was named the No. 35 best value school in the United States and remains the top SUNY institution in that category. A new in-state value measure placed Binghamton at No. 32 nationally.
The latest results continue a run of more than 20 years for Binghamton among the nation’s top 50 public universities. U.S. News evaluates schools using measures that include graduation rates, assessments by academic peers, faculty resources and graduate earnings by major.
Several Binghamton academic programs also made significant gains. Psychology climbed 22 positions to No. 63, nursing rose 23 places to No. 75 and economics advanced 24 places to No. 97.
University President Anne D’Alleva said the rankings offer prospective students and families another measure of the school’s academic quality and value. The rankings were released as colleges across the country begin another admissions cycle, making the results a factor for students comparing cost, outcomes and program strength.
