Hochul signs bill prohibiting cashless businesses

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has signed a bill into law that prohibits fully cashless businesses in the state. The bill explicitly rules out retail and food service businesses from going completely cashless. Businesses that violate the new law will face fines.
