$6.1 Billion Question: How Will NY Gov. Cuomo Close the Deficit?

Despite lofty promises in his State of the State address last week, NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo did not get into a lot of specifics nor detail any plan to pay for his so-called progressive agenda at a time when financial officials claim the Empire State is the red by $6.1 billion.

Hopefully, some answers will come Tuesday afternoon when Cuomo lays out his 2020-21 fiscal year budget proposal at a budget address in Albany. He has promised to not put the burden on already over-taxed middle-class New Yorkers.

When faced with previous deficits, Cuomo suggested cuts to school funding and health care, mainly Medicaid which accounts for more than half of the multi-billion dollar deficit.
