Amid COVID-19, Newark Valley ‘The Moonlighter’ Loses Advertisers, Closes

SHARE NOW

We had anticipated resuming publication of The Moonlighter following the Coronavirus crisis, but we have had to reassess our ability to continue. Many of our advertisers were negatively impacted, and some of the businesses were forced to permanently close their doors.

Without the advertising dollars we have no funds to continue publishing. We were looking toward next year to ‘retire’ The Moonlighter, but under the circumstances, we have decided to shut down our business now.

It is, therefore, with mixed emotions we announce that, after 18½ years, we are discontinuing publication of The Moonlighter.

It has been our great joy to publish this magazine, and we’ve met many wonderful people along the way (business owners and readers). We have subscribers nationwide who receive The Moonlighter by mail, and many readers in Broome, Tioga, Cortland and Tompkins Counties in NY and in Sayre, PA. We have been uplifted by the very positive feedback we’ve received over the years from our readers, and are grateful for all the notes filled with inspiration and kindness.

God has blessed us, our advertisers have supported us, and our readers have touched our hearts. Our writers, artists and poets have contributed greatly toward making The Moonlighter a successful publication that was eagerly awaited each month.

Publishing The Moonlighter has truly been a labor of love and we will miss it. Thank you for your love and support. May God bless you and keep you safe.
