Apalachin Lion Charles DiGiacomo Gets Prestigious Award for Varied Service

The members of the Apalachin Lions Club & Foundation recently honored fellow Lion Charles DiGiacomo with the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship in recognition of his 28 years of service to the club and his on-going support of the Apalachin/Little Meadows/Campville communities. Lion Charlie has served as President, Treasurer, Secretary and as a Board member multiple times.


His abilities to support many behind-the-scenes aspects of our club’s community service activities and administrative functions has made a significant contribution over the years and has enhanced our member’s commitment to our motto: “We Serve”. Lion Charlie and his wife Carole reside in Apalachin.


The Melvin Jones Fellowship is an award presented by the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) in recognition of a significant donation made to LCIF on behalf of the honoree. It represents a significant contribution to LCIF’s humanitarian efforts world-wide and recognizes the legacy of the founder of Lions Clubs International, Melvin Jones.
