Anthony M. Kormos, of Apalachin, was arrested Friday night after the Broome Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant at a motel on East Main Street in Endwell, Town of Union.
Kormos, 30, who lives on Main Street in Apalachin, was arrested after the Task Force investigators located:
- a loaded Ruger 9mm handgun
- approximately 43 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine
- approximately 13 grams of Fentanyl
- glassine bags of Heroin
- Oxycodone pills
- Suboxone sublingual films
- approximately $966 in suspected drug sale proceeds
- digital scales, cutting agents and packaging materials used for weighing and packaging narcotics for sale.
Kormos was immediately remanded Friday night to the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility in the Town of Dickinson to await arraignment Sunday morning.
Kromos faces eight felonies and three misdemeanors charges:
- Four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, class B Felonies,
- Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, class C Felonies,
- Three counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, class A Misdemeanors,
- One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a class D Felony
- One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a class C Felony.
The Task Force was assisted at the motel, which was not identified in the news release, by a marked patrol unit from the Broome County Sheriff’s Office.
The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force is comprised of members of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Binghamton Police Department, the Village of Johnson City Police Department and Village of Endicott Police Department.
