The towns of Owego and Barton were at the top of the list for new cases since December 10 in Tioga County. Owego is the county’s most populous town; Barton includes the village of Waverly, which is a high-positivity cluster, as designated by New York, State. Tioga County Legislature Chairwoman Martha Sauerbrey reported Tioga County Public Health Department released the following information regarding new COVID-19 positive cases by towns reported for three-week period of December 10 – 30, 2020.

COVID-19 UPDATE – DECEMBER 31, 2020
Owego, NY – Tioga County Legislature Chairwoman Martga Sauerbrey reported the following Tioga County COVID-19 Statistics:
- 1,710 Confirmed Cases – Total confirmed cases, to date.
- 478 Individuals in Mandatory Quarantine – These are individuals who have had close contact with someone who has tested positive, but is not displaying symptoms for COVID-19; or individuals who traveled outside of New York State.
- 1,439 Recovered – Total number of individuals who had a confirmed case of COVID-19 and are now symptom free that meet the criteria to be released from isolation.
- 207 Active Cases
- 64 Deaths
