Bradford County Commissioners are pleased to announce the COVID-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program (CHIRP) to assist businesses within the hospitality industry that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This program is being funded through County Block Grant — COVID-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program as authorized by PA Senate Bill 109 of 2021 in coordination with the Department of Community and Economic Development.
The total funding available through the program is $600,000 for Bradford County hospitality industry businesses. In an effort to streamline potential applications for the program, Bradford County has formed a partnership with the Progress Authority who will serve as a clearinghouse for hospitality-based businesses interested in pursuing the funds to ensure compliance with the program.
These funds are available for hospitality based businesses as classified by the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) which carry designations within the Accommodation subsection (721) or Food Services and Drinking Places subsector (722). Eligible businesses must have been in operation as of February 15, 2020 with no plans to permanently cease operations within 1 year of the date of application and be able to demonstrate a 25% reduction in gross receipts from any quarter of 2020 against the same quarter from 2019.
Grant Awards will be awarded in $5,000 increments. Priority will be given to those who have not previously received funding assistance and to those with emergent needs. Applications will be processed on a rolling calendar basis from March 1 through June 15, 2021.
