Corning Hospital is proud to be recognized by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield with a Blue Distinction Centers (BDC) for Maternity Care designation, as part of the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program.

Blue Distinction Centers for Maternity Care demonstrate expertise and commitment to quality care for vaginal and cesarean section deliveries. These centers demonstrate better overall patient satisfaction and lower percentage of early elective deliveries.

Guthrie Corning Hospital has taken part in many projects that help to educate, evaluate and strengthen its internal quality improvement program including standardized protocols for hypertension and hemorrhage management and simulation drills to strengthen the team’s readiness to respond to serious maternal adverse events.

Tracey Fish, LDRP Nurse Manager, Guthrie Corning Hospital said, “I am very proud of the hard work the labor and delivery team has put in to achieve this recognition. Quality improvement and patient experience remain our primary focus every day.”
