Knoxville Man Returned to Cortland County to Face 17 Felony Charges

A former Cortland County man who moved to Tennessee and was arrested earlier this month in Knoxville has been returned to Cortland County to face 17 felony charges and six misdemeanors filed by the Sheriff’s Office.

Narrative: On January 14, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office were notified by Officers from McMinn County Sheriff’s Office in Athens, Tennessee, that the defendant, Casey A. Brown, 33, who was residing in Knoxville, had been arrested in McMinn County on a matter unrelated to the charges in Cortland County. The defendant was taken into custody by Officers of McMinn County Sheriff’s Office authorities without incident.

Due to Brown having open charges in New York, the defendant was extradited back to Cortland County by Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office on January 22. The defendant was arraigned in Cortland County Court.
