(Vestal, NY) – The town is pleased to announce the appointment of Stace Kintner as police chief. As the new chief, Kintner will be prioritize increased community policing with greater transparency, improved officer training as well as officer health and wellness.
Kintner, 47, is a lifelong Vestal resident with 25 years experience in law enforcement. He served for five years at the Broome County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division, followed by 20 years with the Vestal Police Department.
He was instrumental in the formation of the Vestal Youth Police Academy and the Citizens Police Academy. He oversaw the increase in department staffing with a more diverse workforce.
In his spare time, Kintner is active in coaching youth sports. He and his wife of 22 years have two sons, ages 15 and 19.
