Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Nationwide prescription Drug “Take Back” Initiative is Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at various locations in the Southern Tier.
Two locations in Tioga County are:
- Owego Police Department parking lot;
- Spencer Fire Department, Main Street.
Chemung County locations are:
- Chapel Park, 83 Personius Road, Pine City,
- West Elmira Fire Department, 1299 W. Water St., Elmira.
Residents are encouraged to turn in expired, unused or unwanted medications for proper disposal. Keep the medications in their original containers with the label intact; however, blacken out your name. All medications, ointments and sprays are accepted, with no questions asked. No needles.
