(Owego) — Jerome D. Burgess, 38, of Owego, NY, was recently arrested on a Arrest Warrant issued by Village of Owego Court for Robbery in the Third Degree, Class D Felony, and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a Felony. Burgess was turned over into Tioga County Centralized Arraignment Court.
Lawrence K. Ormsby, 40, of Owego NY, was arrested for Assault in the Second Degree (Felony), following a investigation of a Disturbance. Ormsby was arraigned at Tioga County Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail.
Robert A. Skope, 43, of Owego NY, was arrested for Tampering with a Witness in the Third Degree (Felony) following an investigation of a Disturbance. Skope was issued Appearance Tickets returnable to the Village of Owego Court.
Vestal police arrested David J. Wiggins, 37, of Vestal, NY, on the following Felony charges:
- Criminal Possession of a controlled Substance 2nd Degree, class A-II Felony
- Criminal Possession of a controlled Substance 3rd Degree sub. 1, class B Felony
- Criminal Possession of a controlled Substance 3rd Degree sub. 7, class B Felony
- Criminal Possession of a controlled Substance 3rd Degree sub. 12, class B Felony
- Criminal Possession of a controlled Substance 5th Degree, class D Felony
Officers stopped a vehicle being operated by Wiggins on Nov. 12 for a vehicle and traffic violation when they observed narcotics residue and a scale used in drug packaging and sales. The vehicle was ultimately searched and quantities of methamphetamine and crack cocaine were located. Officers also located 76 Clonazepam pills, which is a controlled substance.
Brent T. Knapp, 32, of Waverly, NY, was arrested by Chemung County sheriff’s deputies on October 30 on an outstanding Superior Court Warrant issued by Chemung County Court for:
- Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree and
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, both Class E Felonies.
Chemung County Sheriff’s Office arrested MICHAEL W. MILLER, 44, of Elmira, for Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony.
On Nov. 27, Chemung County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol was dispatched to a residence on Mt. Zoar Road for a report of a burglary. The resident returned home to find his house had been entered and ransacked. On Nov. 28, the resident was home when he heard a noise in his basement., where he found two subjects, including MICHAEL MILLER, who was found to be possessing and wearing items reported stolen.
He was charged and remanded to the Chemung County jail on $20,000 bail.
