Clayton Avenue Elementary School usually hosts a big Veterans Day ceremony every year, with a student assembly where veterans are invited in to talk to the students about the sacrifices they’ve made to ensure our freedoms. This year, with the limitations due to COVID-19, the students had to be more creative and find another way to celebrate Veterans Day. Pumpkins were carved by Clayton Avenue Elementary staff and two fifth-grade students in Ms. Liberatore’s class – Alex and Caleb, to represent each branch of the military. The pumpkins are on the steps of the school on Veterans Day for the community to admire.
