The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the theft of $21,000 from the Cuyler Fire Department. 33-year-old Ashley Marshall, of Jamesville, has been charged with Grand Larceny and Falsifying Business Records. The Wednesday arrest follows the investigation of a complaint from the fire department. The suspect was the treasurer of the organization and is alleged to have taken over $21,000 from the fire department’s accounts. The larceny took place between January of 2015 and September of 2018. Marshall was arraigned in the Town of Truxton Court and released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
