An arrest has been made in the Oneonta fire that caused the death of 34-year-old John Heller. On Sunday, police charged Terrence Truitt with first degree arson. Police also said there is no personal connection between the victim and the suspect. John Heller is credited with saving the lives of his fiancé and four young boys. The fire occurred on Saturday at about 4:20 AM in a third-floor apartment. The investigation is continuing. Police gave no indication of a motive in the crime, but they are investigating 70 leads. Further charges against the suspect are expected. Calling hours for Mr. Heller will be 5 to 8PM Thursday at the Bookhout Funeral Home in Oneonta. The funeral service will be Friday at 1PM at the Foothills Performing Arts Center.
