Bradford County man gets 21-50 years in state prison for sexual abuse of children

A Bradford County man will spend over 20 years in state prison for sexually abusing four different juveniles over a six year period.

According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, 57-year-old James Vanderpool was sentenced to 21 years to 50 years in prison for four counts of aggravated indecent assault and five counts of person not to possess a firearm.

Vanderpool also engaged in a standoff with state police, where he told a state trooper he would kill himself and that he “wanted a witness.”

The Pennsylvania State Police investigated the crimes which occurred in Franklin Township from March of 2016 to December of 2022.
