Athens man gets 3 to 15 years for drug crimes

An Athens man will spend years in state prison for several drug charges.

According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, 43-year-old Eric Derrig was sentenced to three to 15 years for the crimes of driving under the influence of meth and marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, flight to avoid apprehension and possession with intent to deliver.

Derrig was charged with the crimes on separate occasions by members of the Athens Township and Towanda Borough Police Departments as well as the Pennsylvania State Police.

The district attorney’s office explained that Derrig has a significant criminal history dating back to 2000, including drug, burglary and other crimes.
