An Athens man will spend years in state prison after being sentenced on several charges in Bradford County Court.
According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, 32-year-old Michael Tyler Johnson was sentenced to a minimum of 33 months to a maximum of nine years in state prison for the charges of terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault.
The charges stemmed from a domestic incident in Athens involving Johnson and a female victim.
During the incident, Johnson pointed a shotgun at the chest of the victim as she tried to move out of a home in Athens. Johnson fired the gun at the ground, near the victim’s feet.
Johnson will also have to pay for any counseling the victim’s child seeks in the future. The child was there at the time of the incident.
