Drivers are advised a bridge replacement project is set to begin next week on Lake Road (Route 1029) in Wysox Township, Bradford County. The bridge, which carries Lake Road over Pond Hill Run, is located between both intersections of Lake Road with Wesauking Drive (Route 1031).

Beginning Monday, March 16, 2026, the contractor, H & P Construction, Inc., will begin removing the existing bridge. Work will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM each week.

Lake Road will be closed to traffic at the work site. Traffic will be detoured using Route 187 and North Rome Road (Route 1022), while the bridge is being replaced. Wesauking Drive will be open to local traffic only. The detour is expected to be lifted by Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Drivers should drive with caution in the area and expect minor delays.

H & P Construction, Inc. is the prime contractor on this $700,000 bridge replacement project. Work on the project includes removal of the existing bridge, replacement with a new concrete bridge, roadway approach work, and line painting. Work will begin in the spring of 2026 and is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2026.
