C&N says it contributed $933,334 in 2026 to educational organizations through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. The Wellsboro-based bank said the money went to scholarship groups, educational improvement organizations and pre-kindergarten scholarship organizations across its service area.

Pennsylvania’s EITC program allows eligible businesses to support approved education organizations while receiving state tax credits. C&N said its contributions are intended to give students more educational resources, scholarship opportunities and access to early-childhood education.

Northern Pennsylvania recipients listed by the bank include $25,000 for the Mansfield University Early College Program, $20,000 for the Towanda Area School District Education Foundation, $5,000 for the Deane Center for the Performing Arts and $5,000 for the Endless Mountain Music Festival. The list also includes $20,000 for the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation, $20,000 for the Pennsylvania Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship and $2,500 for the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra.

C&N President and CEO Brad Scovill said the bank views education investment as a way to expand opportunities for students and strengthen the communities and local economies those students will eventually support.

The bank published the full recipient list October 9. The awards reach schools, libraries, museums, workforce programs, youth organizations and scholarship providers in communities throughout Pennsylvania.
