A cornhole tournament will be held this weekend in support of ALS Awareness.
The Shady Strong Cornhole Tournament is set for Saturday at Tanner’s Bar and Grill in Athens.
The tournament is being held in memory of Athens High School graduate and former standout athlete Jay Schultz, who passed away in 2020 after a 10-year battle with ALS.
The event will include a 50-50, basket raffles, live auction and food.
The cost is $50 per two-person team. Bags will fly at 1 p.m.
Proceeds will go to Shady Strong, which is a local non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of ALS and supporting individuals battling the disease. Look for more information at shadystrong.org.
