The Pennsylvania State Police have now charged former Bradford County District Attorney Chad Salsman with a gun crime, which led to him violating his parole late last year.

Salsman has been charged with possessing a firearm as a prohibited person after using his father’s gun to kill a pigeon in a barn.

According to police, Salsman admitted to a state parole agent that he had violated his parole by possessing a .22 caliber rifle.

Salsman was prohibited from possessing firearms as a condition of his parole, which was granted in April. He had served three years and nine months in state prison on charges of promoting prostitution, obstruction of justice and witness intimidation.

Salsman was sent to a state prison in Coal Township on Nov. 12th for the parole violation. Prisoner records show he is still incarcerated at the facility.

Salsman is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in Bradford County on Feb. 10.
