A former Elmira man has been sentenced to time in the Bradford County Jail for the crime of corruption of minors.

According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, 75-year-old Charles E. Gynnip, Jr. was sentenced to a minimum of 151 days to a maximum of two years in jail.

Gynnip was charged with the crime by Athens Township Police after an investigation into a report that he had inappropriately touched a minor back in 2017.

The incident was not reported to police until 2021, and by that point Gynnip was no longer living in the area.

Following the investigation, Gynnip was eventually located and arrested for the crime.
