The Guthrie Towanda Skilled Nursing Unit proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special event honoring its legacy of compassionate, high-quality care.
The celebration brought together residents, families, staff, and local leaders, including Pennsylvania State Senator Gene Yaw and State Representative Clint Owlett, who presented citations recognizing the facility’s contributions to the community.
Since opening in 1975, the Skilled Nursing Unit has been a cornerstone of health care in Bradford and Sullivan counties, providing trusted, round-the-clock care close to home.
“This milestone represents consistency, trust, and an enduring commitment to this community,” said Joe Sawyer, Senior Vice President of Pennsylvania Hospital Operations at Guthrie. “For 50 years, this facility has been about people caring for people, and that will never change.”
As the Skilled Nursing Unit looks to the future, it remains dedicated to honoring its legacy while embracing innovation to better serve its residents and their families.
