In her continuing effort to educate older residents about the latest scams and how to protect themselves, Pennsylvania State Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) is hosting a senior scam seminar on Friday in Sayre.
The free event will take place from 10-11:30 a.m. at Sons and Daughters of Italy, located at 301 Desmond Street in Sayre.
“Scammers often prey on seniors, constantly finding new methods to take their hard-earned money,” said Pickett. “Our free events offer a practical way to help them avoid falling victim to these schemes.”
The seminar will be led by George Dillman, investor education coordinator with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities. His presentation will focus on popular scams and how to avoid them, including cryptocurrency fraud. Light refreshments will be provided.
