A Bradford County couple was recently sentenced for stealing thousands of dollars from a store in Towanda.
According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, 40-year-old Robert A. Sparks and 31-year-old Alyssa L. Sparks were sentenced for felony theft charges.
Alyssa Sparks was sentenced to 30 days to 21 months in the Bradford County Jail following her conviction of theft by unlawful taking. She is also ordered to pay back more than $23,000 to Dandy.
Robert Sparks was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay back more than $23,000.
A long-term investigation revealed that Alyssa Sparks was a manager at a Dandy in Towanda when she allowed for potentially hundreds of thefts to take place.
Robert Sparks and other individuals, including his wife, conspired over a period of years to steal money and merchandise from the store.
The investigation has led to around a dozen convictions of people involved.
