During May and June, the Norwich Police Department and the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office conducted a joint investigation into the sales of narcotics and controlled substances in the City of Norwich. That investigation was concluded Friday morning with a ‘No-knock’ search warrant at an apartment on North Broad Street and the arrest of two people. 37-year-old Andres R. Figueroa and 47-year-old Lourdes O. Medina, both of Norwich, were arrested and charged with felony Sale of a Controlled Substance and felony Criminal Nuisance. Police allege that Figueroa unlawfully sold a narcotic drug. In this case, cocaine. The Criminal Nuisance charges allege that both Figueroa and Medina maintained a premise, where people came for the purpose of engaging in the unlawful sales of controlled substances. Both Figueroa and Lourdes were arraigned Friday afternoon and were remanded to the Chenango County Jail.
