Chemung County Legislative Chair Mark Margeson has announced his candidacy for Chemung County Executive.
Margeson, who represents the Town of Erin and Horseheads, made his announcement at the Lattitude 42 Taphouse on Tuesday.
The Horseheads native serves as the Chair of the Chemung County Industrial Development Agency and has owned and operated an insurance company in the area since 2003.
The Republican will face off with current Chemung County Executive Chris Moss, who told WENY-TV that he will seek re-election.
Moss was first elected in 2018 and will be seeking a third term.
The primary election will be held on June 23.
