Chemung County Sheriff’s Investigator Mike Theetge was recently honored with an award recognizing his courage and sacrifice after he sustained injuries in the line of duty in 2024.
Theetge was awarded the Order of the Blue Heart by The Wounded Blue, which is the nation’s only organization dedicated solely to supporting law enforcement officers injured or disabled in the line of duty.
Theetge was injured in the line of duty in March of 2024.
The organization honored Theetge for his courage, sacrifice and commitment to protecting the community.
