The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 36-year-old Elmira man following an incident at the Chemung County Jail.
According to police, Brendan P. Crowley, who was incarcerated at the jail, was charged with assault in the second degree, a Class D felony, after he allegedly poured hot soup over another inmate.
Crowley was arraigned in Elmira City Court and returned to the Chemung County Jail.
