Radigan Media is saddened to hear about the passing of longtime former station owner Robert Pfuntner.

Elmira-Corning-Waverly’s Legendary 94 Rock was created during Mr. Pfuntner’s time as the station owner/licensee. It was one of many stations he owned throughout the region including our sister stations 99.5 WOKN (which we believe he signed on the air as a new station), Chemung County’s second radio station 1410 WELM, and what was 1600 WEHH.

Bob helped many businesses grow through their marketing partnerships with Pembrook Pines, and served on many boards in our area including the Chemung County Chamber of Commerce. He held various business interests ranging from his family’s car dealership in Wellsville, to Sarassin’s Restaurant in Penn Yann, and even the beloved Keuka Maid dinner boat.

The media compound he built on Lake Road in Elmira was something to behold in it’s day, notably Bob’s “Think Tank”.

Bob remained sharp, and passionate about radio to the very end. He was 83.

Our condolences go out to his partner Nancy.
