A bridge in Elmira will remain closed until it can be inspected following a fire on Wednesday morning.
According to WENY-TV, Elmira Police Officers encountered smoke coming from under a bridge on West Washington Ave, between Magee Street and Hatch Street at around 4:45 a.m.
The Elmira Fire Department responded to the fire and was able to bring it under control.
The bridge will remain closed until it can be inspected by officials from the New York State Department of Transportation and Norfolk Southern.
