A 68-year-old man was critically injured Tuesday after the bicycle he was riding was struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene. It happened on Grand Central Avenue in Elmira. Police later caught up with the driver. 40-year-old Sara Harnas, of Elmira Heights, was arrested and charged with felony 1st degree aggravated unlicensed operation and leaving the scene of an injury accident. She was remanded to the Chemung County Jail pending further court ction. Police say additional charges are likely.
