Elmira police say one person has died from a shooting on Monday, June 9.
Around 8 p.m., police were called to the area of Pulaski Park for a report of gunshots with victims at the scene. Two people were transported to a local hospital for their injuries, where one was pronounced dead. The other was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Shortly after, police were called to another report of gunshots on the 900 block of Oak Street. There, they found one person who had been shot and discovered that two others had left the scene to seek treatment for their injuries. All three involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are not releasing the names of those involved in these incidents as they continue their investigation. Investigators believe these incidents are not related.
